Delete Your DukanList Account

You can request permanent deletion of your DukanList account and all associated data at any time, free of charge. You do not need to keep the app installed or stay logged in to make this request.

Choose how to request deletion

All three options below trigger the same process: a 30-day grace period during which we can reverse the deletion if you change your mind, followed by permanent and irreversible erasure on day 31.

Option A In the app or website (fastest)

If you can still log in to your DukanList account:

Open the DukanList app, or visit dukanlist.com/panel/login
Log in with your registered mobile number (OTP)
Tap Profile at the bottom
Scroll to the red "⚠️ Danger Zone — Account Deletion" section
Tap "🗑️ Delete My Account"
Type DELETE in the confirmation dialog and confirm

Option B Email us (no login needed)

Send a deletion request to privacy@dukanlist.com with:

Your registered mobile number (with country code, e.g. +91 9876543210)
Your business name as listed
Reason for deletion (optional — helps us improve)

We will reply within 48 hours to verify your identity (typically by OTP to the mobile on file). Once verified, the 30-day grace period begins immediately.

Option C WhatsApp us (fastest human reply)

Send a WhatsApp message to +91 95412 23377 from your registered mobile number with the text:

I want to delete my DukanList account. My registered mobile is +91 XXXXXXXXXX.

We will verify by replying from the same number; once you confirm, the 30-day grace period begins.

What gets deleted

Within 30 days of your confirmed request, all of the following are permanently erased from our systems:

Your business listing — name, address, opening hours, USP, FAQs, social links, owner details
All photos and gallery items you uploaded
Customer reviews you received on your listing (anonymised in aggregate stats only)
Community Q&A posts (Pucho Bhai) you submitted
Personal shortlist and saved preferences
Login credentials (email and/or password hash) and session tokens
Activity and lead-tracking logs tied to your account
Push notification subscription, if any

What we retain (and why)

A small amount of information is retained after deletion, strictly to meet Indian legal and accounting requirements. We do not use this for any other purpose.

30-day grace period

During the 30 days following your deletion request, we keep your data in a recoverable state. If you change your mind during this period, simply reply to our confirmation email or WhatsApp us with the word UNDO from your registered mobile, and we will cancel the deletion.

After day 30, the deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed — we will no longer have the data to restore.

Visibility during grace period: Your public listing is hidden from search and category pages within 24 hours of your deletion request, so customers stop discovering it immediately. The data itself remains recoverable internally only until day 30.

Account-only data vs business-only data

DukanList separates "owner account" and "business listing" so that you have control over each independently:

If you want to keep your listing live but remove your personal owner account (e.g., handing the shop to someone else), email privacy@dukanlist.com — we can detach the account from the listing rather than delete both.
If you want to keep your owner account but take down the listing temporarily (e.g., shop closed for renovation), tap Profile → Pause Listing inside the app, and the listing is hidden without any data loss.

⚠ Reviews and ratings on your listing — these were written by customers about your business, and under Indian consumer protection norms we cannot delete genuine customer reviews on demand. When you delete your listing, the reviews are detached from the listing (no longer searchable) but the underlying review text and rating remain in our anonymised history for trend analysis. If a specific review is defamatory or violates our terms, please use the in-app 🚩 Report button — those are handled separately under our content moderation policy.

Your rights under DPDP Act 2023

DukanList complies with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. In addition to deletion (right to erasure), you also have:

Right of access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
Right to correction — fix wrong information any time via Profile
Right to grievance — escalate complaints to our Grievance Officer
Right to nominate — appoint someone to exercise these rights on your behalf
